Grimdarii are one of the many species that inhabit Zee Bawx and Val, being descendants of Valians who who were stranded in Grimdark for thousands of years.
Grimdarii are a species of dulled dark-skinned humans, they have heightened senses akin to a feline; They have pure white hair, and a large array of different eye colors. Culturally, Grimdarii have tattoos that surround their whole body as a way to display their power and wealth.
As the Matter Primal, Spectra was wrecking havoc among the cosmos, several rifts formed from pure anti-matter creating a heavily unstable realm. A mage would find this realm and clung to it to siphon its mana. After a little while, a loose rift formed near a seafaring tribe of Valians sucking them and their Animaion slaves into the dead realm of Grimdark.
Overtime these Valians and Animaions adapted to the new realm. While the Animaions were mostly untouched, becoming bigger with white fur—the Valians evolved into not needing to rely on mana, slowly losing touch with their natural born gift; but in turn, becoming stronger with their senses. The Grimdarii would split into small kingdoms, all watched over by a bigger kingdom ruled by a King.
Years would past and the realm would still heavily lack the needed mana to properly sustain it and protect itself from corruption. Then a small angel from the heavens fell into the dead realm, a discarded gift from God. Alone she wandered until meeting a young Grimdarii woman named Aminta, Aminta introduced this angel to the other Grimdarii people, who would call to her as their guardian. They worshipped the guardian, painting murals in their undying appreciation—having a debt that could never be repaid. The guardian after getting news of the lack of mana in the realm made it her goal to restore it, and protect it from the Corrotaevs who constantly threatened the realm.
The guardian would make deals with the Valians in order to use their soul magic, collecting as many souls until the end of the year to create a mass spectacle among the inhabitants. A prince of one of the many kingdoms, Homaro, would eventually be given the guardian with the title of "caregiver". He loved the political power given to him from having the guardian. This appeared romantic amongst the Grimdarii, making him mocked though still feared. As Grimdark lived on the Guardian would regularly take very long absences from Grimdark, causing huge celebration anytime she returned to re-stabilize the realm.
Thousands of years later, a technocrat from the year 2045 would completely liberate the realm from corruption. Freeing the Grimdarii from the wretched hands of the corrupted beasts. Though they would stay trapped in Grimdark, as leaving the realm for prolonged periods of time would kill them.
